Remote starts are illegal and quite dangerous. You might want to check out the Brant Nemesis (www.brant.com.au), the Boomerang (?) paging system and similar. Do a quick search in google or perhaps a broader forum such as Fast Fours.

I nearly pissed myself with laughter when my mate remote started his car, and then chased it down the street, trying to open the door and stop the car :D

nice story ... couldn't happen
auto's won't start in drive
manuals will bunny hop forward and stall ....
and i don't think remote starts are illegal ... you'd have to be a retard to make it dangerous.

We'll try standing you in front of a 1100+ kg hunk of metal and have it "bunny" hop at you in 1st gear...see what happens ok?
And you think wrong. They are illegal in NSW. Alarm installers should not be fitting them to manual cars.
They have though...lmao <This certain place> fits them :)

as far as i am aware the boomerang alarm requires u to arm the alarm with the engine running in order to enable remote start... this then ensures the car is in neutral (as u wouldnt get out of the car and lock it if in gear and the car running).
also, i believe some have sensors that somehow interface with the gearbox to prevent the car starting in gear.

You can pick up some good ones for reasonable prices on ebay (cheap but shipping to aus makes up the *reasonable* tag) or firesport.
Look around.
Both my friends with a Gen4 and Gen5 prelude have them. The gen5 lude guy has the apex`i turbotimer that ensures that the car is in neutral before it starts... therefore ensuring u never leave it in gear and thus the car wont bunny hop upon engine start..
I think its a good idea for an extra 100$, although no nessisary, it lets your car cool down, plus it displays battery voltage level and some other cool things like air flow or something... and it looks pretty cool, if ur a rice boy! :P
i've got a black widow alarm system installed and it's got window wind up when activated if you leave the windows open........that's about how fancy mine gets.....hehehe
