i talked to charlie at GPC and he quoted me $7K for a b16a swap into my eg gl
it sounds a bit steep but it is for the works drive in drive out
and ive noticed he is the 'goto' man for this kinda stuff

just wandering what u guys reckon?

and yes i have used the search

Yeah sounds quite steep.

Especially since the whole car itself is worth about $7000

Rip off and a 1/2.
As people have already mentioned, 1/2 the price should do you.

6.3k sounds about right to me
3.5k for cut
2k labour
800 for parts to do a major service while the motor is out.

3.5k should give u a nice 1/2 cut (B16A 1/2 cut is from 2k)

1st task is to find a engine...then source a DECENT engine...then you might be closer to a realistic goal. ITs all "talk" for most people here unfortunately , even finding a B16a is getting harder these days

Yeah thats a good point.

Might be easier/cheaper turboing it, or sell it and get an Si or Vti :)

$7000 is for the fuel pump and the rest that is why it cost extra, maybe it is with papers too if needed.
