I have read that it is a bad idea to have aftermarket wheel nuts on stock rims. But i am so keen to get some BLACK wheel nuts for my car. (EM1) I am currently running the stock rims and lovin em'.

I have read that all Hondas run 12x1.5 thread pattern. So what is the trouble with fitting them on? Also are there any out there that will happily fit OEM rims?

Thanks for your help,
-Mike

From what I understand (and read), it is an issue of taper on the end of the nut.

Did a quick search and found this:

it has nothing do with the nut or stud thread. Honda nuts with honda cars but mike is right, its to do with the taper of the an aftermarket lug vs an oem lug.

i see ppl run aftermarket lugs ie. Buddyclub ;) on oem honda wheels all the time and get away with it.

i personally had some cheap aftermarket lugs on my OEM jnr. fat 5s and they were fine.

as long as u seat them correctly, torque them down and the check them every so often they should be fine.

the reason i didnt rock the Buddyclub nuts on my fat 5s was because with them fitted i couldnt get the centre cap to fit lol.
