Tonight turned on my headlight heard a click & both! low beams went at the same time. Thought it was a fuse but its not!
Just ordered some M-Tec lights bulbs of ebay in H1 format but now thinking are they ok or would it of been better to get some Narva or Philips want somthing that slightly white yet has good overall light.

sure it's the bulb?
that's like really rare for both bulbs to blow at 1 time.
maybe, head light relay? see if it's clickin when you turn em on.. or see if there is power going to the plug?
eh who knows, i could be wrong, but how odd.

Its very odd! I know, yeah checked head light relay and its ok.
Its the bulbs, if I replace the bulbs & it happens again I think will have to pay a visit to my Honda Dealer.

I've had the Narva lights before and the higher kelvin halogen globes (4000k, 4300k) such as those do give a better, brighter and whiter light than the stock ones. But for me they lasted less than 6 months and i decided to just go back to stock... and the stock ones are still going strong over 1.5 years later. If anything go for something in the 4k/4300k in the halogen as i mentioned- yea can go up to 5k for that really white/hid look but the filiment gives way quick at those higher temps and the light output is not much greater than stock (possibly even worse).

Might not be related but when I old car kept blowing bulbs... I turned out that the car's grounding wasn't properly done (Even though I claimed warranty for that)... Might wanna check that out...
Other than that, have you changed your bulbs before? Because you might have accidentally touched the glass and it came into contact with the oil on your fingers.....

Yes I changed the bulbs when I bought the car back in Dec 2004 to Philips Vision +.
But if oil or I touch the bulbs effected it should of happend long ago.

Nothing limits where or when a bulb should burst :)...
If that's your case, maybe it's the grounding like my old car... WARRANTY TIME :D :D.....
Good luck hey!

could just be a coincidence that both blew at the same time.. my past experience tells me, if 1 side goes, the other will go within weeks..
I would stay with Philips, if u want whiter lights. as u probably know, they are so far, one of the longest lasting aftermarket bulbs.

Rare that they both go at the same time you turn on. Closest I had was one dying within a day of each other. Check your old bulb. Is the glass cracked or is the filament broken? If the glass is cracked and the filament burnt, then it's the oil from your fingers. If it was the filament broken, then it's the lifespan of the bulbs. But my Osram +50 silverstars lasted about 12 months. I'm on Narva +50% now. I keep my original bulbs in the car in case I need to swap it out.
If you want to check the headlight ground, it's on the chassis just where the resonator should be. If you take off the wheel arch liner, you can see it.

Hi Guys,
I was correct this issue was the bulbs they both blew! at the same time so very strange.
The left light just went out normmaly but on the right hand side the bulb blew up! Strange! (Think someone at my dealer must of had somthing on there hands when they fitted this bulb over 15 months ago)
Installed some Narva Artic bulbs & will see how they will go.

How do you actually check if the relay is still good ?
You need to put like power through the switch right ? Is there a visible way like a fuse ?

Today I tried changing my OEM bulbs to some whiter bulbs.. and I found it exceedingly difficult to remove the big weather cap/seal cover for the right side headlight. The left side came off without too much effort, but the right one seems to be stuck and not to mention in a much worse location (blocked by coolant / aircon hoses). Anyone have any tips as to how I could remove the right side one more easily as I've tried prying it with screw driver as well but with no luck. :(

might be a dumb question, but... i am trying to change the low beams, according to the manual, we just need to unscrew the huge weather cap, unhook the clip and pull the bulb out..
however, after i had unhook the clip, i can't pull the bulb thru the metal slits..
am i missing something? can't be this easy, right? are there missing steps after the unhooking the clip?

Have you unplugged the wire that goes onto the bulb? It's easier if you pull it out before unclipping. Also, are you sure you've completely unhooked it? It should 'flip' all the way down so it's completely out of the way. Then just hold onto the end of the bulb (where the wire was plugged into) and pull/jiggle it out.

yup.. have completely unclipped the hook and it is all the way down..
i can pull the metal part of the bulb thru, it's the glass part that is stuck.. hmm.. might give it a stronger pull later. thanks..

Don't pull it harder. You have to get the angle right.
