Im using endless vn9500. great for street use and can even track with them (although I havent as yet). bit of brake dust, but worth it. Good pads IMO

I find the Ferodo's DS2500 to be excellent.

They were just a tad better than standard pads when they are cold, but once you give it some heat putting it into its optimal temperature range, it REALLY pulls you up.

Only downside is, more brakedust, but I found that to be of little concern for the braking ability of these pads..

I have ds2500's and love them...second set on the front now! Yes, heaps of brake dust but who cares when they stop so well.

I personally find EBC green stuff more than adequate for street driving and occassional track use. Although some people mentioned brake fade (which doesn't happen to me), and it eats your rotor (but I haven't had a need to machine my rotor yet so far - already more than a year)

LOL chunky, brembos don't make brake pads.

i've got some ebc greenstuff on my ek at the moment, pulls up okay but you really need to heat them up to grip well.
another bad is that after a week my rims turn to gun metal(stock ek4 ones)

moving to endless ss-y for the front and endless vn9500 at the rear in a weeks time or so, let you know how it goes :)

How much were the NS's? I was thinking about NRs but I was quoted about $320 from them from an official distrubutor.

That's the price I got from Mu Secret. They wanted $260 for the B-spec while the trader was selling it for $200. But I am more interested in the NR though. Did you know someone at Mu Secret to get such a low price for the NS?

EG5[KRT]

nope.. ns was cheap as ..

i think i spoke to andrew last time ... they sent me the wrong pads and then they sent me the correct ones ..

NR pads are going for $300 i think....

if its cheaper from trader get it from the trader ..

Just had a full set of TRW Lucas pads fitted... braking performance is really really good, even before any heat is cycled into them... the feel through the pedal is also much better than the standard junk and at a pinch I would say feel is better than EBC greenstuff pads too (IMHO). No cold squeal, not an unreasonable amount of dust... Best of all, they're pretty cheap ($110 for fronts on an EG5 VTi)

Lucas pads are pretty good. That's the pads that come on the Astra stock. Were much better than the Ferodo Excels that I put on. The downside was that after 1 set of pads, the rotors were past their minimum thickness and had to be replaced. Couple that with the fact that they don't need heat in order to bite well, I think they are aggressive abrasion pads.

if you after standard not too expensive brakes go for the bendix ultimates if your after something more serious go project mu's

My mechanic sourced them for me from his brake supplier... Mine are TRW branded and I haven't seen them in retail stores but I know the Lucas branded ones are available from Repco. Maybe talk to a specalist brake supplier.... As for the model availability, I know that they are definitely available for EK1s so I would recommend giving them a try.

I've got Formula Ferodo's. These are also know as TS2000, which is the old DS2000 without the thermal adhesive between the pad material and backing plate. The DS2000 were once the standard rear pads in the British Touring Championship. They are dusty. But work very well. The pad number is DS1206FF, this is for a DC2R. The DS2500 is the next step up and they are supposed to perform much better still. Then there is the DS3000, which is an awesome pad. Used in V8 supercars and WRC. Ferodo Pads are cheap compared to Jap Pads.

I've heard mixed reviews about Greenstuff.

I've got DC2500 ferodos front and back on my teg. Been testing the limits before ABS comes in as just got the rears put in with the slotted rotors a couple of weeks ago. Pull up extremely well and it seems harder to get the ABS to engage, since the car pulls up so well.

EBC Green Stuff on ITR calipers.
Not bad, kinda dusty. Just as good as Endless NA-Y's but had the Endless pads were on a entirely different car (more power/more weight). So kinda hard to compare. They both need some heat to stop, however the EBC require less IMO.
Got the Green stuff for less than Bendix Ultimates if I remember correctly. And they're obviously less than Endless pads. So that's why I chose them.
I've also used Bendix Ulti's and thought they were mediocre.

Was told today that these have been discontinued for the rear of VTiR civics  Anyone know other wise?

Don't know about the ts2000 but you can certainly still get the ds2500s for them. Same part number as for my teg.

TS2000 = Formula Ferodo. Ask for formula ferodos. About $160 for front. Compared to $250 for DS2500, but they are in completely different leauge.

I did :p and told no longer available for EK4 rear :(.

Was after them for the rear.... I usually try to adjust bias somewhat by differnent pad compounds. Ie. Endless NA-R front and NA-S rear (which was an awesome combo), and now wanting to try DS2500 front with the TS2000s on the rear.

TS2000 would not be enough for me on the fronts.

Speedcore part number for the front for the ds2500s is FCP1436H if you need it. BTW DS2500s front and back is awesome.

Here's my 2c worth, but coming from a club-level motorsports (5 years of hill-climbs, sprints, motorkhana's and some track events) perspective and from a non-Honda background.

Ferodo TS2000 are great pads for fast-street 'spirited' driving, will take alot of heavy braking before brake-fade sets in and has good bite. I highly recommend this for every-day street use mainly for its good value pricing and minimal dust factor.

Ferodo DS2500 are ideal for prolonged heavy driving and braking, i found this pad to have very similar performance to the TS2000 however it didnt fade, period! Well didnt fade after many laps of Wannaroo raceway, therefore ideal for this application. Personally to dusty for my daily driver but excellent for a weekender.
