i wouldnt go for it, the best place to put the turbo is in the middle of the manifold. so the air flow is the same and not alot more to one side....you can get better!

the wastegate placement is in just about the worst position possible...
other than that, doesn't look too horrible, but you can't really see much, so I can't really comment

to be fair, you did say "the best place to put the turbo is in the middle of the manifold" and the turbo is in the middle
the little take off there is for the wastegate ;)

that's not the same manifold... the one on us ebay has the turbo offset to one side, etc
does have the same horrible wastegate placement though

it will be ok for small applications, but if you are serious and want to run big boost dont bother, whatever gate you put on it i dont believe you will be able to control boost correctly.

ideally you'd want something like this.

Well sorry to tell you but you're also a noob. Ideally you'll prioritise exhaust flow to the waste-gate, not the turbo as shown in your above diagram; Not just for boost control purposes either.
I give you exhibit A... Conveniently an LS motor aswell... Nice motor :D

you're both noobs... ;)
you prioritize exhaust flow based on what power delivery you're after... priority to the turbo will give faster spool, etc, priority to the wastegate will give more top end.
Most turbo design books usually go for something in betwee, giving equal flow priority for the best of both worlds.
Either way is MUCH better than having the wastegate takeoff on one runner... that's just horrible.
and n/a... nice choice of manifold pictures... happens to belong to me ;)

That one in particular is just a home-made one, but it is based on the hytech design.

the manifold belongs to me... was made by a guy in canada for me. It's a standard ramhorn style manifold.
Can't say I've ever heard of hytech, so can't say if they were the first to do that style of manifold... it's a pretty common style.
If interested, said manifold is for sale. D series headflange, T3 turbo(which I also have for sale). Designed to be a/c compatible with an internally gated turbo(only ram horn manifold ever made to those specs as far as I know), but with an external take off for upgrade purpose if you so desire.

saxman... Allthough I am gladdly open for corrections... I think it is fairly safe to assume that his comment was directed at the picture of the manifold I linked to...
No sane human would call a simple ramhorn "crazy" :D
string: who's a noob?!?!
n/a: *raises hand..
string, please i know my fair share of manifolds, and i've seen that "race" design mani myself along along ago. as saxman was saying it's all depending on what you're looking for (how much power) i honestly don't think anyone here will be going to the extent of getting a hetic mani like that made up.
i was trying to get a ramhorn design similar to the one that jdm_eg was asking about. hence the point of this thread.
not who has seen the most craziest manifold here!
yes saxman, it is your mani.. what can i say, i love it!

No sane human would call a simple ramhorn "crazy" :Dah, ok... I'm in no way familiar with any of hytech's work, so I don't have anything to compare to.
Anyway, the crazy one is a pretty standard looking tranny mount manifold. Some places refer to it as a sidewinder, etc. Appears to me to take its design a bit more from 80's F1 manifolds. Either way, it's a great manifold, but certainly costs a lot more than a ramhorn.

Yeah, thats a well thought out design, nice dump pipe flow and everything, so who makes its

As I said, a company called Hy Tech Exhaust are the common mob, but it'll cost you a deadset arm and two testicles to get one over here.
You'd probably be able to get one made locally for cheaper.
Hell, you could buy a welder and all the materials to make a few for the price you'd pay...
