Hey guys

Basically As the title says, i have a d16y1 Sohc Vtec Intake manifold from a 95 civic vt. Will bolting this onto a Non vtec D series engine provide any power gains?

Is it larger, flow better? better design? etc etc or just simply the same?

Ive been led to belive a y8 manifold is beter. Like ppl do that to their y1's for gains

any confirmation as to whether the y8 intake manifold will fit onto the d16a DOHC? pros or cons?

the d16a8 (DOHC non vtec) manifold appears to be larger than the y8 manifold , but the runners look a similar length. Can someone highlight the exact differences?

IMO the y8 manifold is a good thing for any SOHC D series :)

not worth the gain
even getting a skunk2 i/m isnt worth it unless u have the mods like matching t/b, ported head to suit
d-series.org also has a whole heap of info on this

thats fair, just saw one for sale cheap, so if it can provide me gains, it mite be a good thing.

will wait for any confirmation tho :)

Well unless u got othe mods to suit, it wont be much gain. Like not noticable.
If ur turbo, then hell yeah a better manifold will be sick

Sexc86, as qikteg suggest, pls be specific on the D Series NON Vtec engine !
switching the manifolds would be a waste of time imo, like as aimre advised, there wouldnt be much gain, most prob nothin ! unless ur engine is fully worked on, turbo, etc ..

y8 is the king of SOHC land. I don't think you'll stand to gain anything from this personally.

why dont you guys try y8 manifold on the d16 and then get a b16 intake arm and pop that on it should fit on as it fits the d16 tb
