Show and Shine?

i dunno if this would be an appropriate section..
but i would have like to discuss this matter with few of the sydneyside mods and Wyn
last year i attended skylines australia Show and Shine.
it was basicly a day where the skylines enthusist gather and show of their rides and traders have a oportunity to show off their products and members to grab an rare bargain opportunuity.
It was a great sucess in the SAU community..
i wonder if we can start out annual Ozhonda Show and Shine day.
and get some of the traders to come to the event and show off their products etc.
WE can vote on the best cars under the category as
Best EG
Best EK etc etc
to Peoples choice

if this does go to plan i am willing to spend a great amount of time to get this thing working.
ofcourse with the help of out Few helpfull mods.

Well i went to few show and shine with old Hot rods etc.

The Suggestion u bought up is awesome danny. Great for community spirit and a great day for everyone to learn from each other in the detailing department :).

i buy the honda tuning mag every month and it seems as though theres one of these events covered every issue in the U.S.....toymods also have their annual toyfest held at aurburn reading cinemas every year, maybe we can use that as an example...they give out some trophies and stuff at the end of the day

sorry but that wont be possible..
i do not want to put 2 events together in 1 event.
this will require alot of setting up and organising..
also..i will be contacting any sydney based traders to come and set up a stall at the event..

Great idea Danny!

Would you charge a fee for people to display their cars? The money may encourage people to commit once they have put their names down and could go towards prizes, be they trophies or sponsor products.

I could look into getting such an event magazine coverage, provided there are a decent number of cars of decent quality.

ofcourse there will be charges for entry.. and ofcourse prizes!!!!

if melb is serious about a show 'n' shine we can oraganise one at my work...we have show n shines every summer for the old school ford muscles we get around 200 cars ... and yeh its a very big event...music trophey's and gangster ass old school fords.

From memory u pay $18 for ur car....and because its at the drive-in movies that includes the ticket for the movie later on. :)

The idea is a large show n shine ofcourse with prizes or nominatiosn for "best of..." criteria. Best JDM , biggest rims , stupidest number plate etc.

Once the "rules" are laid out ~ id say it would be more like "ozhonda members and close friends".
No random idiots allowed. We will have a few months prep too , with people lookign at participating being reviewed for the spots etc.

it doesn't take much to become a member of ozhonda, so if anyone has friends with hondas that are too lazy to sit at a computer and register, then i don't see why they should be allowed to participate.

side note: magazines take a great interest in these kinds of events, so when details are starting to be finalised, maybe it would be worth notifying some of the more popular magazines
