Civic Coupe VTiR with/without rear lip?

I have noticed that some Civic Coupe VTiR models come complete with front and rear bumper lips, however there are others which only come with the front lip and no rear lip. Does anyone know why this is so? I always thought the rear lip came standard on the VTiR Coupes...but there are a few I've seen around without the rear lip. Just wondering why this is?

Yeah the body kit was only a factory option. Just more VTI-R owners opted for it/was thrown in for free when they bought the car

Rear under-spoiler was an option.

Costs roughly $400-450 through Honda parts.

Really? That's a bloody bargain...the last time I enquired about one (some 4 years ago admittedly lol), I was quoted somewhere in between $400-450...

$100 OEM from Honda?? Wow, that's alright...alot cheaper for the brand new genuine product than someone advertised for sale on this forum recently for an aftermarket one! Might give Honda a call and see if this is true and if so, they've just made a sale.

Yep, 450's roughly the price I was quoted. $100 sounds very cheap and if it's true, I'll buy one myself! :D

I had to wait 2 months to get it - I'm not lying and I have no reason to. (?) But I beleive it was $150 not $100.

I found the receipt for the paint on the rear lip, my rear lip must have cost me $250 - $150 for the lip and $100 for the paint, because I remember it costing me $250.

Yes it was OEM Honda. Yes I bought it from a dealership.

I bought my rear lip (unpainted but primered) from honda, $240, waited 2-3 days for it. This was a few months ago.

There was/is also a genuine OEM optional rear lip to suit the coupe. I have access to those if you are interested.

I think the front lip is standard but the 99 vtir came with rear lip and the 00 came with a wing instead. Cos mine is 00 and it hasn't got a rear lip either.
Mind to share the part number of the rear lip? i bought my car second hand without a front and rear lip. I think the ex-owner parted the front lip and sold it to someone else :thumbdwn:. Anyway bought an oem front lip from dealer for 600+.. fark that!!

99 EM1's didnt come standard with rear lip either.. i had to buy mine seperately! rear lip part no. is 08F03-S04-600K and it should cost u around $229 unpainted.

^ No that is not a rear lip - just the bumper.

The one in Zdster's shot is actually a 96-96 VTi Coupe/Sedan rear lip - not a 99-00 one. You can still get 99-00 ones from Honda dealership...

Oh and btw - looks like I got mates rates, I knew the fella that sold me mine :)

hey guys, that silver civic coupe posted on the first page is actually mine now =). I just bought it about a week ago and it needs a rear lip ! So if anyone can get me or know somewhere cheap, it would be great.

Btw, a quick question off the topic, but there are em1 owners here. I just started to drive the car for a day or 2 now and the car feels really weak and sluggish in 2nd gear after turning into a road. It hardly reaches vtec! Is this normal???

Starting off in first gear is good and can reach vtec quickly. Any ideas???

If you check the gallery of the feature car, there's a rear lip there. That is the one I am after. The one posted earlier by zdster looks somewhat different (and is not the one I am after).
