I scored a used OEM front lip for my Euro a few days ago, colour matched too (NBP).

So off i go to install it, using the Acura front lip instructions found online. It says i need a bunch of clips and bolts that i dont have. So I duck down to the Parts division of my Honda dealer and ask them if they had the parts.
Nope! They don't sell clips and such to install the lip, only the whole set with the lip. Ok, how about any lose ones lying around? Nope. What about if i broke a clip in my boot liner?? Then they'd order a new one...
SO how about you order me some new ones!?!?

.... Nope... "sorry sir, you have to order the whole lip set".
ARGH!

Then i pay a visit to my local Honda wrecker, and ask if he has any clips to sell. Nope, they're used and probably broken. Give Repco a try.
I must have one of those faces that say "dont take my money".

Anyhow, I go to Supercheap Auto with my little Acura list, and they dont have the appropriate parts either bar the self tapping screws.

FINE. I studied the instructions and decided i can install it with the clips i remove in the process of the installation.

So in the end, with the help of a mate and some shitty double-sided tape, and half as many bolts as there should be.... I FINALLY INSTALLED THE KIT :D

And subtle as it is, it looks great! I'm very happy with it.
It's holding on surprisingly tight, given there's only 4 of the 8 recommended bolts holding it on. So if anyone sees it, please don't sit on it or kick it ;)

I'll post up some pics of it as soon as the rain stops. I know you're all well aware of what it would look like, but just to share the fruitsof my long-winded efforts in getting it on =)

The dude who sold you the lip should have given you the clips as well, anyway hope it doesnt fall off or anything, especially at high speed :D

Haha as do I hope.
I've given it a firm testing, and it doesn't look to be at risk of moving, less falling off. It's quite sturdy thankfully =)

If its a really tight clean fit- perhpas cut out some of the tape and use automotive polyurethane.
Your double sided tape might become unstuck after getting wet and dirt getting in between there.

lol double sided tape? how ghetto...

i'd find an alternative....if i did that, i'd be so paranoid of it flying off

not great news as I am missing a few clips for my Euro R kit too (not installed yet). Think I have all the bolts. The clips don't look anything special though - I thought maybe a visit to the local panel beater might score me some generic style clips. What do you guys reckon- would that work?

Re the bolts Unkie - surely your local Bunnings has something that will work. Maybe the length will not be perfect fit - but surely you can get a thread exactly the same and length similar.

lol I wouldnt trust double sided tape - it can deteriorate over time especially in hot weather. Be sure to secure the lip with at leat four bolts, which may require new holes to be drilled, but better safe than sorry.

u wouldnt need "honda specific" clips. they prob get their clips from generic places also.
i cant see why the generic clips from, say, autobarn wouldnt work. as long as it holds it up in place and is strong it should be ok

The clips that hold the fender liner and the ones that hold the grill can be bought from the dealer. I have bought them.

The square type clips and the "christmas tree" clips on the other hand, I'm not sure. As long as they have a part number, they can be ordered. Even the airbox bolt can be ordered individually without you needed to buy an entire airbox for it.

Haha yeah the double sided tape is pretty ghetto, it doesn't seems to be doing anything, but the kit sits pretty tight. There's 8 bolts holding it down in total (missing 4), so it's holding.

Thanks for the suggestion guys, i'll probably duck down to Bunnings or raid my shed and find some nuts and bolts to lock it down.
