is this worth buying $175 Performance Underdrive Pully for my dc2r, will i gain power from from it, or not much and not worth it?

The only thing good about it is that it is lighter than the stock one. Makes the rpms rise and drop faster by like 1%, if that high. Make sure it's a balanced one too. Not worth $175 imo as you can get them off Ebay for half that.

dont forget the water pump on Hondas is driven from the timming belt. ( still turns at the same speed )

Thanks ECU-MAN, I was reading that going ummmmm that's the timing belt!! The rest of the stuff will spin at a diff rate only if it is an under drive pulley not just a light weight pulley. There is a difference. Once the car hits about 2200 rpm the alternator is producing max voltage and amps so it isn't really effected by the pulley except now the max output is at about 2400 rpms.

[quote=claymore]until there was enough volts (at least 12.5 or more) [quote]
Your battery should be charging at 14V even at idle (with a stock pulley)!
the underdrive pulley is usually overlooked for performance ay. pretti cheap mod which drive all the accesory drives on your motor at about 20% slower then stock which reduces rotating weight, probably not a good idea if you are running other drives like a large sound system.
According to the Honda/Acura engine performance book ull notice a 4-6hp increase.

i had one on my car then removed it
payed $25.00 for it
looked goo thats all
it made my powersteeting heavyer
also there are dampeing properties in the stock one that the lightened ones dont have, not shure how it would work
the lightend ones will prodide almost no performance differance less then 1%
also if you car is running on less volts it want perform as well
idle changes with differnt voltages also

i cant quote exactly which carsw , but hondas generally run the pulley as a harmonic balancer ~ make this ligher and you are putting ofcourse more strain on the internals than the engineers intended.
IMO put money elsewhere.
