hi guys
today on the way home i noticed it was very hard to shift into all gears.
then when i was at the lights ready to go, in gear 1 clutch pedal down ready to engage, and before it reaches friction point theres a loud grinding/whirring sound coming from the front. I presume its the gearbox.
This will happen on all gears, just before friction point.
Can anyone confirm what the problem is and what I can do to fix it.
It's an EG Civic SI, stock standard.
Thanks in advance

Get a WHOLE bearing kit. They're not cheap - you might want to just by a new reconned box

sounds like input shaft bearing or another random one in there...$$$ seems to be a common thing for aging Si gearboxes !
Get it checked out asap or it will simply cost more time and money.

Have you checked your clutch??? If it wakes sounds when you are stopped at lights sounds to me like clutch. Also maybe its time for a gbox oil change?
Good luck
