[Euro]mp3 player compatability???

Hey Guys

Have an opportunity to purchase a 2003 euro at very good price low km.

I understand that it does not have an mp3 player. But see on honda website that mp player available as option accessorie. Would this work with the 03 euro and if so where would it fit? Do you loose your origional 6 stacker?

I know the CD changer interface is the same on all models/years so I cant see why the mp3 unit would not be compatible. I believe the MP3 unit sits down in the middle CD Holder compartment.

But the Honda mp3 option is quite expensive (almost $1000), you are better off getting an iPod and an IceLink-Plus to connect the ipod to the CD changer connector. 30GB iPod Video (~$400) and IceLink (~$250).

The Icelink lets you control the iPod via the steering wheel buttons, so its all good :thumbsup:

Thanks mr eurodude for that info. Didnt realise the honda mp3 was that expensive! The ipod sounds like a good idea. Not knowing the euro that completely will the display show the songs playing etc... I gather there may be a cradle to hold the ipod and an outlet for power?? I actually have a small ipod shuffle 1g and I think it was the best 140.oo I spent for a long time.

Do you know if the new shaped grill fascia will fit/replace the old one?

ps I actually have an vti civic on order with full body kit etc... but contract expires tommorow (3months) and will have to wait another 2.5 months till delivery. I am considering very seriously the euro as an option.

Like to hear your comments on the two. I know they are in a different class though.

Not sure if the IceLink is compatible with the Shuffle - you may need an adapter/spacer to make it fit in the IceLink Cradle.
The Icelink doesnt use a seperate power cable, you just plug it straight into the cd changer connector underneath the radio.

As for the grill, I believe the 03-05 grill is incompatible with the 06 grill and vice versa. The mounting points and vertical size is different from what I understand.
