Has any body tried using TypeR cams in the their b16a or tried a combination of 1 intake and 1 exhaust cam from either for a good combo..

this has been covered a number of times.

Type R cams in a non type r VTEC motor i.e b16a/b18c.
Gains can be had but since valvetrain/head and vtec range is different IMO this isnt the best bang for buck upgrade.

consider a Hondata and get it tuned by somebody good. As said before by good dyno tuners, its much easier to get good gains with stock internals simply by just getting a standalone and tuned to perfection after you ad your I/H/E mods.

Considering they are half the price of most after market cams, i think it's a good cheap upgrade. I am assuming anyone looking to do this would already have I/H/E so can't really use that as a comparasion. And of course get it tunned for max benifit, but that's the same with any mod.

The ITR/CTR has a more agressive cam profile and may require a stiffer spring. This may also require a adjustable cam gear set to allow for timing/tuning properly.
