View Full Version : tapping noise on rear left wheel
im trying to figure out what on earth this noise is, it comes and goes when it wants, when it comes it just keeps ticking and ticking, panel beater said my brake drum could be bent in a little and could be tapping on something causing my brakes to not brake how they should, anyone else know what it could be?
anyone at all know

If its a ticking sound, its either a rock wedged in the grooves of the tyre... or your wheel bearing...
May even be warped disk, but thats unlikely on the rear and to one side. This would also sound like a squeek...

rock in your tyre.
I had a simular problem on my old lancer. Ended up being that one of my exhaust brackets (the one right near the wheel) had broken and was rattling at high speeds and on bumpy roads...

jack up the rear of the car, and spin the rear wheels, see, it makes the sound then, you can kinda figure where it's comin from, etc,.
