I have bought a OEM style plastic spoiler a while back and was suppose to put it on since I cant really get use to park a sedan as I cant see the boot at all. However, I am get use to it. I have a Mugen full bumper style kit and was wondering what do you guys think about an OEM spoiler on Mugen kit.
thx

NO!!!
spoiler = Spoil Her. In any case.
Most cars just look stupid with a boot spoiler anyway.

The OEM spoiler is okay, but definately over-used, as there are just so many Euro's with them on! They don't even look that nice I don't think.
I myself got a BMW-style lip spoiler for my Euro. It looks nice, but isn't really that noticeable/standout as the Euro already has quite a big 'bum' :P
I don't like those little lip spoilers- they cost a lot and don't really look that much better IMO. But then, I'm a 19y/o who's very shallow.

i dun like spoiler myself but just that i got it for FUNCTIONAL purpose so I can see the boot.
hmmmmm..... I may just sell it then

Exactly, the euro does not suite the OEM spoiler imo. Ive never liked that one.
The Euro looks great without any spoiler
Although there are a couple of aftermarket ones that look good, like the mugen one:

And this one kind of looks alright, too big though:

lol this one ruins the "clean" look of the euro, its too sporty imo

Nup.
I reckon putting a spoiler - any kind - ruins the look of the Euro. That's my opinion though.
Besides, I don't see the point of putting a spoiler on an FF car, just doesn't seem to make any sense to me.

FF car??? [edit] Front engine Front wheel drive... well it depends on the design, I mean Integra's look good with rear wings.
Personally I dont think rear boot spoilers suit the car, my two cents worth....havn't seen any euro that looks good with one yet...must be the design of the car, aerodynamic already pointed low front with high rear. Would love to see some more pics of rear boot spoilers though...

Yeah so true regarding the high rear.
Which is why a very small/low wing is best suited (i.e. the mugen one) or no wing at all imo.
Don't use OEM spoiler cause it's too common & doesn't look good. With my opinion you can go with:
- Mugen (03-05): a bit bulky but will suit with your mugen kit.
- Spoon: very nice:thumbsup: but really expensive :thumbdwn: .
- BMW style: will not stand out but still nice IMO.
I'm using BMW style with mugen bodykit as well. It's not that expensive, i bought it from ebay US$110 delivered & painted & come with 3M tape. All you need to do is just stick it on the boot.

Now thats nice ATJO... ....very subtle just enough for the effect, not spoiling her.

I like the Mugen wings for show, Integ's wings for the racing look, and the spoon lip is nice too, for normal casual euros

hms I prefer a spoiler that runs over the edges rather that cover only the boot section. *orders a mugen wing lol*

i have the mugen spoiler (03-05 model) and im gettin rid of it
afer owning both an OEM and a mugen spoiler, i have come to the conclusion that i think a euro should not have a spoiler.

Honda UK now offers a lip-spoiler as an option.
Somebody on a US forum got one of these from the UK -- and reports that it is made in Australia!
So who in Australia is making them?

i personally like the look of the m3 style spoiler or the one that Tobster posted (nice find btw). They add a nice accent without being overly obtrusive to the lines of the car. I think the spoon spoiler is ok but I don't like the mugen spoiler or many others for that matter.
less = more when it comes to spoilers, so i'd have to say TypeG - stay spoilerless and just keep practicing without one haha

I have the factory spoiler on my 06. The 06, although only subtly changed from before looks a lot more aggressive IMO. The factory spoiler just seems to fit better than in earlier years. I agree that on the older models it looks out of place because the rest of the car is quite bland.
The lip spoilers are quite nice though.
I can honestly say that here in QLD I have only seen two other Euro's with a spoiler in the 6 months I've owned it. Most of them here seem to be family cars which is such a shame (Yes I know that's what theyre aimed at...It doesn't mean I have to like it!).

doesnt feel the lip spoiler as it is not noticeable and useless. I prefer something which is bigger and stay up a bit

^ yea that's fair enough if you're just using it to know where the rear end is - maybe get some parking sensors instead

Lip spoilers aren't entirely useless (for normal road cars); often they can be more useful than a larger spoiler, but it depends on the car's aerodynamics to start with (and the Accord Euro is quite slippery).
Lip spoilers can help stabilise the air as it leaves the rear of the car. I remember reading the factory stats of the current Maxima when it was new on the US site, which quoted (from memory) a drag coefficient of 0.29 for car and 0.28 for the car when fitted with the lip spoiler.
A lip spoiler will also add a little more down force to the rear.
Big spoilers add drag and are really only of benefit when travelling at high speeds -- on road cars they tend to be more show than go; just look at the automatic spoilers (which aren't huge) now on cars such as Porsches, Audi TT or the Chrysler Crossfire -- which rise from the rear when the car is going over 80 or 100 km/h.
Hehe...well done Tobster nice bit of interesting info....am considering a lip spoiler my self...unsure still 50/50

I understand this theory but that's factory design which has gone through thousands of tests and changes which is not like u stick a wood at the boot and it works. PLus the angle and distance u stick your lip will make the different as well which cant be done DIY.
no offense but that's true.

The "distance" generally seems to be set by the design of the lip -- at least on a good one. The Honda one (I can only assume that the Honda UK option can be called "genuine") and the Spoon lip spoiler look to only fit (due to their shape) in one place -- right at the end of the boot, where they should be. The angle isn't adjustable.
They don't look like some of the other (el cheapo) lip spoilers you can get which are just stuck on the bootlid anywhere you can.
As you say, it all depends on whether any actual research has been done into the spoiler's aerodynamic effect. But let's face it: most spoilers sold are for show and do very little. The classic example is the SS Commodore: you just need to look at the shape of it to see that it's not really going to do anything.
As a former Magna owner (and I loved that car but I love my Accord Euro more) I was really interested in the development of the Ralliart Magna. A Wheels interview asked the development team, wouldn't the top speed be higher without the big "drag-inducing" Evo wing -- which nobody denied: the point being that sporty cars generally need to appear to wear the "accoutrements of speed" to sell.
Personally I quite like the lip spoilers -- but I'd probably go for the Honda option (I'm willing to bet it will be an option here on the 2007 model) -- but I also like the clean look of the rear of the car as is, and mine will probably stay that way.
