Ok, as you can see I'm a total noob on the Honda scene, although have been wandering around the import scene for some time. But I'm now here to beg of your wisdom! :D
I'm after a new car and had been previously fixated on a 180sx, and then when I decided that my budget wouldnt stretch to the 180 of my dreams, I focused on a BMW E30 (of which I had plans to mod the sh&t out of). I recently landed a 2nd job and it involves quite a lot of driving, and ferrying people to and fro, and as E30's are pre 1990, I'm thinking the car would be too old.
Basically my needs have changed totally, and I realise I need something practical (fit my bike into), economical, reliable, and not much more than 10yrs old...thus bringing me to the mighty Honda Integra GSi. I've found a decent 94 'Teg GSi for around the $10k mark but wanted to know wat you guys think! I really dont think the car is worth modding other than rims and a system, and will prob buy an auto as my citywide commutes can be a bitch. My other consideration was a VTi Civic of around the same year; how do these cars compare? As I'm still at uni, I'm not too focused on raw rwkw as that just doesnt happen on 2xpart-time jobs.
Apologies for the lengthy rant, but any ideas or comments would be appreciated!

vtir teg for bout 14k would be nice on fuel, fairly close price to the gsi, with more power... also newer than the 90's bmw :D

Id go with the GSI at 10k man. The vtir is a better engine, but for the pruposes of what ur after, the GSI engine is better. U get better torque at a lower rpm in the GSI.

On the street, if ur going to cart ur bike around or anything like that, u want torque and the vtir is going to cost u more and have less torque down low comapred to the GSI.

I dunno why you guys are so surprised about fitting a bike in: pop the front wheel of the bike off and drop the seats. I can barely fit it into my commodore even with both wheels off! Yeh I'm not sold on the VTiR, if I want a quick car for $15k, I'd def buy a 180sx or something...something I dont necessarily have to rev the crap out of to get performance!
As for questions due to practicality for ferrying ppl around: my VL turbo is raspy, jerky, and loud in the cabin and I'm hoping a 1.8ltrs NA car (Integra) is not.
Sooo much cynicism
