Just poped up my bonnet this morning for a quick check and I notice that the fluid in the brake master cylinder has dropped about a quarter. When i first bought the car 1 year ago the previous owner has reconditioned it and he's shown me recepit. At that time the fluid was at Max level.

I also noticed there's grease on the outside of the cylinder

Is it normal the fuild is being 'consumed' during this year or there's a leak??

A little will always leak out between the bottle and cap, it just happens. For it to go down that much doesn't surprise me but I've also seen worse. I would just top it off and clean the bottle and cap and see what it's at in a week. Also have someone check the levels in the ABS unit if you have that.

yep as said above this amount of loss is normal due to pad wear but watch out if you top it up as next time the brakes are done and the piston is pushed back in your reservoir could overflow

ur supposed to change brake fluid every 2 years ..

sometimes people have already changed fluid wihtouth changing pads so they dont need to really flush the system ...

but yeah i usually change my fluid every year with motul rbf600.. its good shiet !! :D
