Aim: Install & fit the Comptech Icebox Intake Kit

Required: Socket Set
- That fit the bolts you want to take off.
- Extension Rod.
Screw drivers +/ -
Comptech Icebox Intake kit
- Icebox Lid
- High Flow Filter
- Inlet Horn
- Inlet Adapter
- Inlet Horn Bracket
- 2x #56 Band Clams

Steps:
1. People with 06 euro *like myself* read “http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27627&highlight=euro+mugen+bumper” for steps to undo front bumper in order to reach the bolts for the resonator.

2. For those who dont' take out the bumper, turn the steering wheel to the right, take out the fender liner and take off the 3 bolts holding the resonator like in the link in step 1.

3. Undo the clips for the inner fender, also the bolts around the front left bumper. http://h1.ripway.com/bsonic12/DSC03767.JPG

4. Assemble the intake pipe together by, sliding a #56 band clamp onto the inlet air horn (for Fender Bracket) and assemble lower inlet air horn with adepter attached using the remaining #56 band clamp at top and insert inlet air horn into the bottom of stock air box. http://h1.ripway.com/bsonic12/DSC03770.JPG

5. Position fender bracket inline with lower grounding bolt, and attach using stocking bolt in this location. Slide #56 band clamp over fender bracket and tighten in place.

6. Remove the stock lid and filter from stock intake box, by unscrewing the 4 bolts. If you use a extension rod with the stock set, trust me, makes the job much easier with the right tools.

7. Use the can of UniFilter oil to spray evenly on both sides. Let it sink into the foam so leave it for 3 minutes. http://h1.ripway.com/bsonic12/DSC03774.JPG

8. Install Comptech high flow filter into the stock air box, simply by just placing it on the air box where the old stock filter was, blue side facing down and yellow side up.

9. Remove spring band from stock inlet pipe. I find it super doper difficult to take off, so what I did was. Stick 2 screw drivers in, and under the spring then lift, and force it.

10. Place the icebox lid on top of the stock air box with the high flow filter in it. Attach stock inlet pipe to Comptech lid, make sure it is fully enclosed or else it will make a hissing noise while full throttle.

11. Start the engine, check for any unusual sound from the engine bay if some, then time to troubleshoot, can’t help you with that. If everything’s all good then, warm up the engine then trying out your new intake, also listen for vtec kicking in around 6000rpm, also feel what’s different & improve. :D

Here ares also 2 sound files of the oem intake and the comptech.that I recorded with my phone.

Before (oem): http://h1.ripway.com/Bustersonic12/Before.wav
After (comptech): http://h1.ripway.com/Bustersonic12/After.wav

Post your comment about the Comptech Air Intake Kit here, good or bad all welcome~!!
My comments are,
- faster acceleration
- smoother acceleration
- smoother rev
- feels less limit or resistant on the accelerator.

Just my own opinion, have not actually dyno yet, so all my opinion have not been confirmed yet if wrong please correct me.

Special Thanks to the people that helped me in removing the front bumper, and resonator, and people that gave me advices on the intake, thank you

PS: if you find this guide helpful, please + me points :D thanks thanks

did u still use the stock bottom part of the airbox?

Well done Bustersonic!

Euro77 - you definately lose some torque down low. I have a couple of times put back on my stock lid with OEM filter and immediately notice that extra torque down low. Waiting for Hondata to sort that out!

thanks yfun~!!. you got a ITG Racing filter for your icebox, did you need an adepter for it or straight on replacement? can you feel a difference it?
