Hey guys and girls.

I'm not sure what AMP to get to power my system..

I've got a Alpine 9857 deck, Focal 165V2s and a Type R Sub 1242D..

Should i get a Monoblock, say a MRD605 and a Alpine MRV345

Or just power everything off the MRV345 or a MRV545..

or i'm open to other brands...but just hopefully not over $1,000.

Regards

as a basic rule man id say get a mono to run ur sub off and then either a decent 4 chanel for your internals or a 2 chanel for your fronts and then just run ur rears strait off the deck...ive done one setp using a 4chan the way you describe using it for the rears and the sub and it didnt compare to mine at the time with the dedicated sub amp

it all depends on how much you want to spend

Cheap Monoblock amp, try the Jaycar one.

Does 800 wrms BUT jaycar didnt have a decent enough power supply to test the claimed 1000WRMS that the manufactureer say it does.

Ive been using a jaycar amp now for four years NO PROBLEMS and i can honestly recomend them

i think with your already good quality, go with the Alpine MRD-605 & Alpine MRV345.

Audison SRx3 is designed for 2 speakers + sub. It's basically a 2 ch amp + monoblock built into one. Will set you back around $600'ish.

Depends if your willing to spend the money on two amps. Really, just a MRD-545 with the rear channels bridged will power a type R rather nicely (500rms 4ohm). Still leaving you 2 channels to power your front end (125x2rms 4ohm)

Anyone know which car audio shops would have the 545 or some good Alpine range available.

Have you seen the new "PDX" amp offerings from alpine. There is a new mono 1000w amp (PDX-1-1000). The thing is tiny and apparently they are "stackable" (i.e. you stack a mono and a four channel on top of each other under a seat with no heat problems).

Heard one driving two 12' type x alpine subs, was magic, but then again with that much drive it should be. I think the retail on them is $1099.00 may be too much but have a look.

I like my RF amp :) They are always underrated so don't believe the spec sheet- ask to see the birth sheet (with actual specs on it).

Btw do many other decks come with remote bass control? Don't underestimate how useful this is- particularly if you don't have a deck with good bass management.

Digital Designs C4 Would do a good job ;)
Over 100w rms for each split
and over 500w rms for the sub :)

Most quality amps get underated. I have two MRD-545's and both easily clear the 125rms 4ohm rating. The strongest of the two makes 164.3x4RMS 4ohm. U can pick up a new MRD-545 for under 800 dollars now days.
