umm...to the best of my knowledge...

b16a's havent existed for quite a few years...since the ef8 crx.(in oz?!?)

I guess u mean B16a2 ( newer series) in Ek's...in which were kast made in 2000 i believe.

Now, all hondas have been replaced with newer , iVTEC engines - such as the jazz 1.5 or the DC5 ITR 2.0

Different layout, same vtec principle !

bennjamin: the B16A that came in the EF8/EF9/XSi is the same design as the EG6 and EK4 B16A but with a few refinements later on. The block and head come from the same die. So yeah, the B16A was in production from '89 onwards until the current Civic which as you said, moved to iVTEC. Basically you can't say that the B16s through the '90s were different to the original though :)

The b16a has gone through a few changes throughout it's life.

The orginal b16A1 had 160hp
the B16A2 had some head mods to it to produce 170hp
The lastest B16A3 found in the 99-00 VTi-Rs didn't change much as it still produce 170hp.

Honda have moved away from the B series and now with the k series with it's iVTEC.

The B16B was in production from 1997 to 2001
Only used in the EK9 CTR.
It was superseded by the K20A also used in the ITR.

also, im very sure the B16A2 in our VTiR is only 160HP. - 118kw.
The B16A second gen is 170ps and the B16A first gen in 160PS (JDM only)
