hi ive had my car for a bit over a year now, when i first bought it i was able to get between 500 and 550 km's per tank on 95 octane fuel. since then it has slowely been getting worse and worse, i have no idea why.

ive been averaging about 425 to 450 km's per tank if im lucky, my driving style hasn't changed really, if anything my foot isn't as heavy as it used to be. im getting worried now as this tank im only going to ge 350 which is really bad

ive havent't got a clue what it could be, if anyone has an idea how to fix it i would really appreciate it

cheers

yeh i reset the ecu, hasn't made much difference, just made the car run heaps better, i dont know when the fuel filter was changed last.

the car gets serviced every 5000 k's so that shouldn't be a problem, but its been using a bit of fuel for a while now so i dont know. its going in for a service on saturday so ill tell them about it then and see what they say

cheers

You wouldnt be changing ur fuel filter every 5000.
So yeh, this time round, get them to specifically look at it for u.

Yes as Qball said, you only change oil every 5000K, not fuel filter..its probably clogged. Also if you still find its not that good after you change the fuel filter, suggest running a diesel additive through e.g. diesel power to clean out your injectors/fuel lines.

you added some fully sick dubs since then 18" wheels ?

If you have then theres your answer. If you have made any other mods to your car then look to those for some answers.

You may also be driving your car harder now than before as you have become accustomed to it.

I've got a 98 VTI-R and I also average about 370+ or more KM per full tank. Max I did was when I did some highway driving and got to about 430+.

I sent it for a full service a couple of weeks ago and apparently my exhaust resonator has a small crack and clutch master cylinder leaking too. The mechanics told me the resonator isn't such a big deal and that I prob need to replace the clutch master cylinder in due time.

Is there anything else that should be checked? I also had my injectors, fuel lines cleared of any carbon residue.

I get between 400 - 430kms per tank, thats giving it a good run aswell..
And im sure i need to change my fuel filter also...:(
