I just got back from my mechanic who has tried for the second time to fit new shocks at the front but they wont bloody fit!

hes tried gabrielle and monroe, has anyone had any experience/problems with this before? Any suggestions for new shocks?

Koni Reds or adjustable Yellows, Bilsteins, stock DC2R, etc etc.

what is the problem?
the shocks are too long? the forks dont fit the strut? spring perch different height?
gabriel and monroe are pretty good fitting

stocky: my mechanic said they are a few mm too big, im not sure what in respect to

McChook: its a '94 gsi, im buying 16s/17s and the shocks are busted anyway. i want suitable shocks for lowering it without breaking the bank (the rims with tyres will prob cost about $1300-1500 by themself)
