Pretty pointless question man lol, i mean, if you like the look of 18s on ur car, then go for it - bare in mind ur asking ppl who havent seen ur car b4.
If you want ppls opinions, at least post up a pic of ur car and the rims u wish to fit.
That way, we can at least give u a proper response, rather than jst a yay or nay.

BTW remember , while looking good ~ 17's or 18's will significantly slow down your civic and change the handling characteristics :)

Yes as ben stated, and also remember you will need to get lower profile tyres which cost much more to replace. You may find that you have less give when you go over bumps etc - ride becomes a little harsher... I know with the teg an increase up to 17s - I find that when you hit a bump or uneven bit in the road, the steering wheel has a tendancy to jerk a bit. Also has to do with less room for suspension travel under your wheel arches Lol

Years ago, even an increase in the ED hatch to 15s from 14s was quite noticeable...rubbing on guards quite frequently.

17s at a maximum. 16s will be perfect imo. u dont wanna be putting all ur hard earned cash into rubber now do u? its just silly.

20's man.. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

dude, its your car. You do what you like. Honestly though, I wouldn't go anything above 16 for your vehicle.

i'll have to agree with SiReal, prefer 16 inch. if you go bigger, it'll look like it's kinda out of proportion. and the tyres r expensive the bigger the rims

i got 17 for my ek, it looks sweet. If it's hatch, then i'd go for 17. Sedan ==> 18

cheapest $125each, thats for about 205/35-40ish...
now thats entry price(unknown brands), the better the tires you want the more expensive they get

It depends on whether you want crap tyres or decent ones...I pay on average anywhere between 220 - 260 a corner...for decent tyres in 205/40/17 size.

i read in this mag i had.. there was a black s15 that had 19"s and ran like 12.9quarter mile time and then changed back to stock 16"s with exactly the same setup, and ran 12.7.... is the compromise in performance really that great when ur using 18"s for a car that is meant for 16"???

He speaks nothing but truth. Go the 18s if all you care about is looks, just expect to take it slower around corners and roundabouts, and expect scrubbing. Other than that, 17s look great, and dont affect handling too much.

An EG is NOTHING compared to a boosted S15 powerwise, hence the minimal difference in your example.
In stock form, the EG is gutless, hence the move up from 14s to 18s will be greatly felt.

I say, 17's...18's way too big for a EK and what's more, you will have to dump it more to look good...and it might actually effect your Odometre!

Any change in rolling diameter will affect your odometer.

Might not apply to the EK range, but EGs that want to run anything bigger than 16" (meaning 17"+) you'll need to roll your guards out to avoid scraping, its like a rule of thumb. Try a full lock with 17" without guards rolled and you'll have very bad scraping. It doesn't just effect your turning though, it effects other stuff as well.

Just make sure you get the tyre width in a comparitive ratio to the standard size, and it won't put your speedo out.

before answering this question, ask yourself what's more important to you... performance or looks.

for me, switching from stock 14's to 16's with better tires added half a second to my quarter mile time... not something I consider acceptable. Moving to an 18 would only make things worse.

Big wheels are great if you don't mind negatively impacting every single aspect of your cars performance.

I can't personally justify a modification that makes my car accelerate slower, brake slower, and handle worse, but that's just me.

I have 18's on my ek. It throws your speedo out and thats running 35's. Get 17's.

have u considered raising the car about 3 foot and putting on some 26"s lol

some lil 16" forgies would do the trick, if u wanted to go for bling u chose the wrong car
