Hey guys,
got some specs from my search below.

I got a trade school teacher buying an sx16 integra for his daughter. His getting it real cheap as the ex-owner drove it until it seized. He is going to see if he can fix it up (as he is a mechanic). But i was wondering if an EG GL engine would be a straight bolt in job?? if not what would be needed. I know its got less power, but not heaps less and by the sounds of it power isnt an issue for the purposes of this car (it will be an engine 4 years newer). He just wants a cheap car. I can sell him my EG GL engine if he needs it as long as its a bolt in job. Just need some info.

Also, is the sx16 carb or EFi?

not sure about it being a direct bolt in but a d16a3 is EFI so will casue problem when doing the swap i dont no much about it but i went the other way in my EG GL carb to EFI and all the fuel lines and sh*t had to be changed. again not sure whats involved in your situation id say something similar.

anyone??

He should try and find a d16a8 ~ later variant of the same engine stock in the teg.
No poitn getting your engine ~ weaker and carb'd...its illegal to convert a EFI car back to carby...

thanks guys.
was just curious if it would work as i could have tryed to sell my engine to him, but its not worth it.. not to mention illegal as ben said.

i looked into it a little and things like cable > hydro tranny need to be done. A custom mount etc.

maybe he should look at something like a ZC. If he's after a bargain engine then you could find a D16 for about 300 bucks.
