I'm currently using Mobil 1 10w30 but its like $80 a pop so am leaving it in the car for a bit longer this time, as I've just done a concentrated oil flush through the engine after hitting 200K on the odometer. I normally change at 5000km but will be changing at 10000km this time, since the engine is so clean...

otherwise I normally use Castol R synthetic which is 5w30 mainly because of the price. It's approx 45 - 50 dollars for 5 litres.

No worries. Check your honda manual to check the recommended viscosity. It's probably 10w30 as well, but you may not need to run synthetic oil in your car since its non vtec. Also some users here use the Honda Ferio Oil.

A B series is a B series. In fact the best oil that you can use on a B, F, H, D and K series is so similar. As long as you go for a 10w-30 if your engine is not burning oil. Do a search with "engine oil", with the inverted commas.

just use honda FEO 10w-30

seriously man unless your dc4 has some serious mods you do not need anything extravagant. if anything changing your oil more regularly would be more beneficial than using an expensive oil like mobil 1

atm im using 10w-30 oil in my dc2r.. and i found that its burning a lot of oil.. its only been 2 months and the dip stick is down to half.. this is also after toping up every couple of weeks.

u recommend 10w-30 if the engine isnt burning oil.. SOo if my engine 'is' burning oil.. wat would u recommend??

If it is, I'd use a 10w-40 (or 0w-40 or 5w-40). If it is still burning oil, then it's time for a rebuild or just keep topping up. 10w-50 (0w-50 or 5w-50) ... I don't think I would want to run that on my car for the long term, but if you are desperate to use a bandaid fix, then try it out. A thicker engine oil to stop oil burning is at best a bandaid fix. If you find that you are burning more than 1L/1000km, then that exceeds even the limit that is set by Honda/Acura for new cars.
