Hi all,
About a week or so ago we enabled full text searching via MySQL and users had problems (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48301) clicking the New Posts or Todays Posts buttons (it didn't bring up any new posts although there were new posts).
As a result when you now login and click on your UserCP (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/usercp.php) link it might show a whole lot of threads with new posts in them (although you have already read them).
Once you have read the latest posts in there just click on the Mark Forums Read (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?do=markread) link and everything will be back to normal.
If you are not subsribed to any threads then this won't affect you.

Before the change, I could post in a thread, click on New Posts, and top of the list would be the post that i made.
These days, when I post, and click on New Posts, I dont see that thread again, until someone else posts in it after me.

Just a quick question along similar lines. When you click new posts it dosn't display all the new posts. eg the link to new posts says something like 120 new posts. Then when it displays it says displaying 1 - 25 of 60 something posts. Is there a reason for this? Or am I missing the way it works or something. thanks :)

i dont think its working wyn... when i last visited the forum... i clicked on "mark all read" and then... the next time i come back... it listed all the new post... not a problem...
BUT the next time i visit the forum... all those new threads from my previous and current visit merge together... so instead of displaying only the new posted thread... it display both the old and new...
so right now... after about 3 visit to ozhonda... i have alot of unread threads... do i have to keep clicking on... "mark all read" everytime i visit the forum??

and when you search for New Posts and click a threads "go to last post" icon, it wont go to the last post, rather it goes to a few pages back (for threads with multiple pages).
plus when you search New Posts and browse through the pages, when you get to the 4th page for example, it gives that "sorry no new posts" message, even though there are like 8 pages total.

New Posts / Todays posts problem resolved as of this morning.
Everything should be fine now. Just checked my subscribed threads and seems all fine.

when i go to New Threads, it shows 20 pages, when there are only say 6 pages of new threads and after the read ones it shows some bar that says something like 'these threads have not yet been read but were here last time you've been to ozhonda' or something like that.
also i've had the problem too when i click on a subsciption and it goes back a few pages that i've already read instead of the latest unread post.

Yeah still not working correctly, although it has improved.
For instance when you post in a thread, then click NewPosts, that thread that you just posted in does not show up in the Search

Kandy, that bar is a new function after switching over to fulltext searching.

Where/how is this coming up? Have you clicked Mark Forums Rea (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?do=markread)d ? If you do this then it shouldn't show up with any new posts when you goto your UserCP (unless of course you are subsribed to some threads and someone replies in one of em :)

Problem now is that if you are browsing the forums (not logged in) and say come back in 20 mins (with the OH window still open) and log on. The threads you haven't read/viewed since logging on will be marked as read.

I've just changed it back to before. Reason being is that I just logged in and it said no new posts (when I know there have been!)
BTW This is the way it is set:
This option uses the database to store thread and forum read times. This allows accurate read markers to be kept indefinitely. However, in order for a forum to be marked read when all threads are read, the user must view the list of threads for that forum.
Furthermore forums are automatically marked as read when the last new thread is read.
