The 2.2 has been out for a while,(04) only the US get it from factory. Its not comming to AUS. 67k km for $36k doesnt sound to bad at all, if the rest of the car is in good condition, id say on par

Do you like the 9000rpm of the S2000? If you do, then the 2.2L engine will disappoint you a bit as it has only an 8000rpm redline.

hmm
just a question......
doesnt toda have a 2.2 stroker kit or something for the S2K? i remember seeing it in the "bang for ur buck mods S2K" thread here but cant seem to find it?
anyway, if the 2.2 stroker is applied to the S2k, does it still retain the 9K redline?

I dunno about your question Stephen, but I do know that we get the jap version of the engine, and the 2.2 litre motor was created because the seppo's wanted more torque, wow a whole 6%.

Yeah only this year but. It was introduced to US in 2003.

Doesnt matter, honda's only selling 1-3 S2K's a month anyway.

TODA do offer a 2.2 stroker kit. U can keep the 9k rev limit but there is a chance the engine will blow. It would be in ure best interest to drop the redline.

Remeber that post of the three tuned s2000's from BMI and the J's racing s2000 caught fire. Thats cause Wakisaka was taking the (stroked) 2.2 litre past the recomended redline.

We actually dont get the JDM engine here. The jap spec gasket is actually thinner. AU gaskets are different because of the fuel we get. Apparently this is the reason our S2ks have 10hp less.

we do run a lower compression rate, but, I dont think that having a diff head gasket means we have a completely different engine.

I didnt say we have a completely different engine, I said we dont have the JDM F20C, and we dont. Just like our DC2R has a B18, it doesnt have a JDM B18. (yes i am aware the JDM B18 has more than a thinner gaskets difference compared to the AU spec. just trying to give an example)

Is it just the gasket that makes the compression lower?
I thought the piston is different too.

Meh, can't belive the complaints about so called lack of torque. They should just learn how to shift gears.
