hey guys, have any of you's ever smelt after u've ripped ur car a fart smell? i am told this is a good indication that the octane is burning well. however after puttin gon headers and exhaust it doesnt seem to smell anymore??
is there something wrong. jus wanna see what u guys think bout it. thanks

I smell a burnt oil smell after a bit of "spirited" driving, thats about it.

That "fart" smell you refer to is actually smelt when your catalytic converter is damaged or not working anymore. It is when the bad gasses are not being caught in the converter and are released into the atmosphere. This is an indication that the cat needs replacing, rather than octane burning well. Now that you have had your exhaust replaced and it doesnt smell any more then this means there is nothing wrong. Someone correct me if im wrong but as far as i know your all sweet mate!

umm i duno but my car seems to smell different with diff fuel i put in.
i duno what "fart" you guys refer to, but afterwards it doesnt smell bad, just smell like burnt oil. strong smell too. anything wrong?

Both my hoonda's produce that oil smell, pretty sure its normal.

lol yup yup i wouldnt call it a fart smell but... hehehehe mayb someone in the car ripped a fart when u were gunning it
