View Full Version : Where is the IACV?

hey guys
i want to clean my IACV before i do just making sure i know exactly where it is.

is it here (look in photo below) ?

and also how i loosen this (the metal ring around the tube) ? can it be re-tightened after i remove it?

the ring you need something like multigrips / pliers.. BUT be careful.. these things can get old and are easy to snap when you clamp them with pliers.. i did it on an older car at trade school. Once the clips break off good luck removing it!!

You just clamp the 2 parts sticking out together and it expands the ring, move it down and out of the way and then continue. I cant tell from the pic but it looks like a hose. To remove this the best way is to first loosen it by twisting it with your hand to loosen it as its probably stuck itself tightly to the pipe over time. When you are done make sure the clip goes back in the same place it came off on the hose.

btw.. i cant tell, but make sure thats not an A/C line or something lol.. be careful what it is you are removing and have a drip tray ready.
