Hi all - decided to get a 2006 Civic Sport (Auto).

Put a few options on like mudgaurds, bonnet protector and the rear mat in the boot.

Decided against the blue led lights that look nice but cost $320!! (the ones that light up the front floor of the passenger side, driver etc)

Was wondering if there are any types of similar kit out there that you can do yourself that are discrete like the Honda one.

Yeah I didn't barter much - wasn't interested.

Are they discrete i.e. no wiring showing. From memory you push a button on the dash and the lights come on.

it's easy to DIY. i did that on my civic as well. i just buy the LED light from the shop, install them under the seats and hide the wires under the floor mats. look same as the dealer one but cost me just $30.

Where do you source them from - the Honda shop or locally e.g. Super Cheap etc.

Also is the Honda one wired behind the dash at all? The less obvious wires are the better.

That is essentially whAt they look like - just that I do not wish to pay $320 to have them installed - seems a lot for 3 blue led lights, some labour and wiring.

Nice! But $320? Thats a rip off for a few $3 LED bulbs.

You could do it yourself for like $30, all you need are some LED bulbs, some light assemblies from Dick Smith or eBay, some wire, and a few screws or cable ties to hold the assemblies in place.

You are most likely right, but electronics or basic wiring is a bit beyond me, particularly hard wiring to the car. Just looking for the similar kit and getting someone else to install it.

My G/f got them with her civic, just a note that if you're gonna have people in the back the leds in the centre console are directly visible to them and quite bright/annoying. Otherwise they look awesome :)

Bursons are selling interior LED kits for bugger all...plus a heap of colours to choose from...was thinking of getting some of the Honda ones for my wifes car, fitting some diodes to them and have them operate on both the interior light and headlight circuits....

they're called courtesy lights, and are quite popular with the guys in the states *see 8thcivic*
you can pick them up fairly cheaply in any online honda dealer and install them yourself.
piece of cake! no need to solder/wire... plug n play kinda thing.
