Hey Fellas!

I've recently received my Slipstreams to be fitted on my EG and I've been told by friends to get "Hub Centric Rings". I'm just wondering if I need them?

If I do need them, could you guys tell me what size to get and where I can get get them and how much are they?

The size for the Slips are 15" x 6.5

Thanks Guys!

yes they are needed. you want to have all the weight of the vehicle on the wheel hub and not the bolts. The ring is that 'link' between the rim and wheel hub.

If not, you can bend and snap bolts and/or potentially cause rim failure.

what you need to do is find out the size of the centre bore on your wheel hub and the size of the centre bore on the new alloy. then u get the tyre shop to match u a correct ring. This ring makes up the difference between the hub size on the rim and the hub size on the car. Fills the gap so to speak.

jump on ebay and look for hub centric rings for an ideal of what they look like. its nothing that complicated. really simple actually.

EDIT: theyre pretty cheap as well.

Okay, so I measure up the centre bore on my wheel hub and the centre bore for my new rims, then take the measurements to the tyre shop and they'll hook me up, sounds good!

Never knew something like this existed, thanks SiReal!

no worries drreadangel. take note though, that usually, the bore measurements are down to the mm, so u might wanna do some info tracking from the net as well.

@ steve: they are often overlooked by modders until something breaks then they start whinging. :) Also, usually aftermarket rims have a larger bore size, so they can fit onto multiple cars. then they use these rings to customise it to each particular model

Slipstream Specs - 15 x 6.5, 4 x 100, e40, 67.1hb

I've got the 15 x 6.5, 4 x 100 bit down, but what is the e40 and the 67.1hb?

hey, e40 is just the offset, so no need to worry about that.

next search for the bore of your civic, then take the 67.1 and the civic bore number to the tyre shop and they should have a premade ring for ya, whciih they push inside the rim bore hole, so when the rim sits on the car hub, its sitting on nice and snug. too easy :) !
