Hi.
I have bought an 03 euro about 1 month ago. Up until now i have had no problems. Until, this morning. I got back from a weekend away, did about 300km to get home last night, no problems. Drive to work this morning and both front windows are rattling fairly loudly, but only when they are completly up. i put them down a cm or so and they dont rattle.
Anyone else had a problem like this or know what i can do about it.
Cheers.

I habe problems with my sunroof, it squeaks when the body of the car flexes (going over bumps, ramps, etc). Anyone else also has this problem?

Are u sure its the windows?
Maybe you have some coins in the coin compartment on the right, or sunnies in the sunglasses holder above.

Maybe the previous owner installed some speakers in the front doors and the screws have come loose, which may explain why it only happens when the window is wound up - the window could be touching the back of the speaker.
I would remove the door lining and check it out. If the speakers are still stock, then what you can do is thump/bang the door chassis to identify the source of the sound and go from there...

Yeah i dont think it will be the speakers because as long as not 100% up it wont do it. If i wind it down just a tiny bit it wont do it, Does not even need to to be as far down to see the top on the window.
Thanks for the advice though, its greatly appreciated.

Unfortunatly this is not uncommon on the CL9. What I do is wind down the offending window a few mm - ie press the down button for a split second so it just moves but the window remains closed (ie water will not get in and it looks closed from inside and outside). That seems to resolve 99% of the rattle issues I have encountered in the windows. I am not game to let the dealer look at it - the car might just come back worse.
I tried silicon spray on the rubber but it didnt help

That's so strange. I get the rattling with the teg if the windows is down, not up!
so I always have the window either all the way down, or only half way, anywhere in between and it rattles, but I guess with the teg it happens more for the lowered cars, rather than standard.

yfin, that is exactly the same as my problem, bloody annoying. When i get a spare second i think i will take it in and see what they say.
Has anyone had the problem and had the dealer fix it?

There was an issue with the rubber seal/clip around the windscreen, causing rattles.

Thanks Eurodude - but the rattle raised in this thread is definately in the doors.

Yeah it is definatly in the door/window. Very annoying specially when both sides starting doing it at the same time and only started after a medium size trip home. Mabye some screws came a little loose on the rough parts of the road. Keep hoping i will hop in my car and it has fixed itself, not looking good though.

It's the door trim and window. I have it too. When I just touch the power windows switch so that the window comes down just a tiny tiny bit, the rattling stops. I also noticed that the window is tighter against the felt part when fully closed than when partially open. I also read at tsx.acurazine.com that someone loosened a bolt so that the window resonance was not as bad and it helped the rattling. I wouldn't want any loose bolts though.

aaronng, Have you been to the dealer to see if there is anything they can do or do you just put up with it?

Let's just say that after I complained about the passenger side window vibration, they pulled it out, taped some stuff up and put it back and left an even louder rattle for me. Luckily it was just the power window switch and I fixed that up (window rattle came back later though). Now, I only complain if it is a mechanical fault. Rattles, I can sort it out later since I have the service manual CD and various DIYs to pull the door panels off.
The most irritating rattle that I have is the one from the rear left speaker area. The felt interior is vibrating against the metal frame when at idle to 3000rpm. I'm going to DIY that as well later.

After about two hours of driving today a strange vibrating, rattle started up in the front right door. Kind of like a loose spring somewhere around where the power window switches are.
Does anyone else have a similar problem?

Power window switch - i have the same on the left door sometimes. I didn't bother looking at it as I was going away. Aaron - what did you do to fix? I was thinking to put some tape around the switch housing. I am pretty sure I can get to the switch without removing the door panelling.

My Euro used to have the exact same problem.
Every single car I have driven until now usually rattles if you have your window down partially, but for some strange reason, Euro rattles if you have them completely closed. From my memory, it annoyed the hell out of me for a few weeks and then disappeared on its own, after which a new rattle started somewhere else.

You're right, it's easy as. All you do is pull off the plastic trim that surrounds the power window switch (carefully, as the clips are very tight and the plastic can snap if you pull on one end too hard). Once that trim is off, you'll notice that the power window switch is held to that trim by 2 screws. Take off the screws, a tiny bit of 3M painter's tape around the edge to "tighten" the switch against the trim, screw it back together (be careful not to strip the plastic threads) and voila! No more irritating power window switch rattle.
BTW, if anyone hears that there is a loose cable rattling against the door panel when you hit it with your fist, then do this power window switch fix first. Because the loose switch sounds exactly like a loose cable.

Cruising the suburban streets there is little to no rattle. Will wait to see if it persists on the open road.
Thanks for the insight.
