Check that the loom is plugged in properly and not just sitting there. Also check if your connections are 100% secure and arent going loose. Make sure all other wires that arent needed have their ends cut off so exposed wires arent touching bare metal, and if you dont want to chop the excess off, put some heatshrink over them :)

Hope this helps..

If its when your wipers or something electrical turns on, i'd be checking some relays mate..

Bounces? Explain... As in it comes out of the bracket?

could be voltage problem.

Have you tried cleaning the contact between the face plate and the head unit?

Crap! Still?

Does it just cut out soundwise now or lights and all? I reckon we pull it out and rewire it if its the second.

check all the speakers, if the polarity crosses anywhere throughout your wiring the unit will turn off. it may be behind the deck or it could be at any speaker location, if the positive wire say touches the car at all, it will short and the unit will turn off.
good luck,
or take it back to whoever installed it?

Earthing could be a problem here Danny, check that its a secure connection to the chassis.

Also, did you install it yourself?
Are the power connections correct?
If you did it yourself did you use a multi-meter to check the input etc..
The actual wire connections should be solared onto each other not with electrial tape!
