ive been doing abit of research and they say if you can see through the axle holes to the otherside, it has LSD and if it has a bar going across trhen its not....

well in mine i can see through but other pics i have seen the hole is the same diameter all the way through. mine has a metal ring in the middle....see pics..

So basically, you just look in the hole where your driveshafts go in or you have to take out your gearbox to check ?

just dont jack it up on one wheel and try to "move" the free wheel. It can damage the LSD unit.

wat if "both" wheels are up.. that should b fine right?

and what is suppose to happen whn u try to move one wheel when both wheels are up??
i read somewhere that whn u move one wheel. the other wheel should spin the opposite direction?.. is this true????

coz when i spin one wheel.. the other one doesnt move.. !?.. or is this how it is suppose to be?

Make sure it's in gear. An open differential will cause the other side to spin the opposite way (if the diff centre is locked in one position, i.e. by being in gear).

...So I would be interested to know what happens.

From what ive read and heard , it is not advised to turn a "free wheel" of a LSD equipped car when you jack up one side ( the other wheel being stationary on the ground)

good post Claymore, I agree with your post..

some cars with LSD ( not hondas ) have a warning sticker in the drivers door arch warnning about the LSD diff and stated that you " must never rotate the tyre when one is on the ground and the other is free in the air"

I always thought theos stickers where a load of cr#$, as you mentioned thats what a LSD is ment to do. provide positive traction to the opposite wheel than the wheel slipping, and also provide differencial action between wheel around corners. alot of missleading info out there,

I once had a car with this warning sticker on it :)

btw what about CIG lockers, :) you will damage something if you rotate one wheel with the other stationary. not many CIG lockers out their :)

lmao, if that was the case, making LSD in our cars pointless.

if some car manufacturers state to avoid doing it , there must be SOME truth to it...more so dependant on LSD type
