Has any one tried this??
I can hear vtec engage at 4400rpm but i cant feel any torque/power gain till the secondary flys open up.

Wouldnt the lower cam profile be more of a benefit when the long and narrow runners are still been used in the manifold??

Just a thought if any one knows better or has tried this please explain :o .

it opens when it opens for a reason... the transition from low cam to high cam should be smooth.

messing with it like that is only going to hurt things

SO will upgrading to a skunk2 ITR style manilfold and not tuning the ECU for it harm power rather than helping??

Well i have a skunk2 intake manifold and the thing screams, If ive lost power i certainly cant wait till i get it all tuned :) i was also going to get a Skunk2 68mm throttle body but i have been told this will be too big? is this tru?

you'll probably gain some top end, and lose some low/mid range

But if i tune with a skunk2 intake it will surely make more power than the GSR manifold (tuned aswell)???

depends what motor and mods you have got
i got a 70mm on my b20 and its too big

again, you'll probably gain a bit of power up high, and lose some bottom/midrange

Cheers saxman...
Now gotta deside whether its worth sacrificing the bottom end torque i have..

well i got one, and im really happy with it... its untuned so far but i really like it... cant wait for a bigger throttle body and to get it all tuned...

it's a honda... lacks torque to start with... why make it worse?

My car was tuned using a stock IM and then had the Skunk2 IM bolted on, the graphs were almost identical, with an extra KW or two up top with the Skunk2 IM.
I saw good gains after tuning from about 5k RPM upwards.

IIRC, i gained about 2MPH and knocked off 0.2 from my ET after changing IM's and tuning.

It's a good mod, and leaves room for bigger and better things down the track.

Ive purchased my power fc so i might get a skunk2 before i deside to tune it

i recomend buying one...the stock one is crappy as at high end... but with the skunk2, low end is lost but hardly any at all...
