Before I got my car i said to myself that i'd stick to a deck, front splits, 6x9's for the rear and an amp. I was thinking that i'd be happy with some simple and average gear but then I wasn't happy... Did some research and wanted more... so i changed the front speakers, then i got a sub, changed to a different sub then changed front speakers... and now i'm at it again... but this time i'm adding in another amp... lol

So.....

The amp looks a lot sexier in person....

The rack looks rough because I still have to grind back the welds and paint the dam thing! The size of the metal might be overkill but it was free so I can't complain... lol I've also made up a mount for the distro block.

= ???

I've got a free day tomorrow and if the weather permits, I know what i'll be doing :D

yup... owned by the bug big time....

I'm planning on upgrading the front splits as well as get a different sub, probably back to a 12"

so there goes more money...

that a Digitial designs amp you got there?
you planning to sell your old stuff?!

Fr3aKi3
25-08-2006, 10:00 PM
Yup it's a DD amp and i'm keeping it! it's the first piece of higher end gear that I got for car audio. The sentimental value alone makes it priceless... that plus 2x75wrms and 2x150wrms just to power front splits is too good to let go... :p

lol

Quick update pics:

Saturday: Drivers seat, side trims, back trims and rear passenger side padding were all pulled out to make way for 0awg run of power cable and completely new speaker cables. I had 15metres of speaker cable and i ran out! had to go buy some more... lol

This is Saterday's aftermath, mmm.... spaghetti. That's kinda tidied up it was much worse with the interior stripped... lol

Sunday: Fixed up the connection to the rear speakers and got to work on the false floor as well as drilling the holes to mount the amps. It aint easy drilling through 5mm metal with a cordless drill!!!

I can't work on it till the next weekend so as it is i've got no front stage, no sub and no amps... lol

Sorry about the crappy quality photos, can't remember where I put my digi cam so phone pics will have to do for now

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y124/Fr3aki3/Audio%20Install/PICT2723.jpg

Sorry about blurry pic... I had uni, then worked on the car and finished at 11pm... fun! lol

There's still a fair bit of tidying up to do, i'll get round to that when I get some spare time.

my question is ... Will the amp rattle from the vibration comming out from the sub? or is it screw on to the rack?

destrukshn
04-09-2006, 11:24 PM
noice!!!
i'm planning to change my setup to something similar to yours, looks wise.
=p
lol.
and add another amp, which makes 3 amps.
lol

Fr3aKi3

Nodachi: The amps are screwed onto the rack, although i'm probably gonna use nuts and bolts soon for some added strength. The rack itself is attached to the MDF with 4 big bolts and the 2 front screws of the Infinity amp screw into the rack as well as the MDF

destrukshn: I havn't completed this install 100% yet but I already wanna change... got the urge for a 3 way set up up front....

destrukshn
04-09-2006, 11:36 PM
3 way? lol.
do it.
please.
lol.

i love my audio.. too much, it puts me into debt
lol

Fr3aKi3
04-09-2006, 11:42 PM
hmmm.......
3 way.... add another C4

So far I haven't put anything car audio related on my credit card and I wanna keep it that way!

I'm probably gonna change subs before i got for a 3 way setup, gotta see how the Boston sounds running from the Infinity. The sub was alrite off the C4 but a monoblock should be better, so i'll have to wait and see.

lol, i've put it on my card..
=/
it's like you go in there for one thing.. but i need that to go with it.. hey that looks good.
lol.
than BAM, in debt
lol

Looks really neat so far. Good luck with the rest

I've had a couple of days to listen to it all and i'm happy =)
Might not even need to change subs after all. the monoblock makes such a big difference... lol saves me $$$

Now I just gotta get around to doing the front speakers... atm i've only got the front drivers side installed but that's not even sealed against the door or anything at all... lol

I'm gonna try and stop myself after I finishing installed the fronts and SD-ing the doors and after some new splits and... who knows what else.... lol

dfekm3
06-09-2006, 09:12 PM
what would be good is ify ou hide the all cables... so looks like the amps are floating on its self and no cables...

It's been a while since i've done anything with my system but an upgrade is on the way. Here are some shots of what's to come.

Nice equipment you got there!

You gonna sound deaden your doors and boot?

Fr3aKi3
31-01-2007, 05:31 PM
Most definitely will be SD-ing the doors, I've got a bulk pack of Dynamat ready to go. I've already done the parcel shelf and partially completed the boot lid as well, i've still got plenty left over for the front doors and the boot.

^^^

Hey dude, unfortunately I havn't done much at all. Once I get all the gear that i need (one more amp), i'll be going at it full steam ahead and taking heaps of pics. Although I got a few others things I need to do before actually working on my system so it probably won't be till another month or two before something happens.

The wait to do some work is killing me but i'd rather be patient and get it done right instead of rushing everything and screwing it all up.

Nah, it's the older V3 version. It was on special at FHRX and decided to get it. Thanks again to Marty and the guys at FHRX, a mate and myself spent over 40minutes just auditioning to splits... lol.
