hi guys, I'm gonna service my car soon, should I just use the Honda genuine engine oil (how much?) or should I buy it myself? Any recommendation?

When you make the apppointment, you can tell the service department that you are bringing your own oil. Then go to the parts department and buy a bottle of FEO for about $30. Leave that on the front seat/floor and remind them you brought your own oil.

the 06 civic has a new oil.
they don't use the normal FEO, that the euro, crv's, s2k's, nsx's what they are. lol.
there is a oil specifically formulated for the 06 civics, you can get them from your honda dealer.

What about the Sport? It's running a normal k20z, does it require special oil?

I just got a quote from one of the honda dealer in melbourne, they said it will cost around $250 including the Engine Oil (they said Castrol magnatec), is it too expensive? I told them I prefer Honda genuine engine oil, but they said castrol better, is it true though?

If it is Magnatec 10w-40, then I'd go for Honda FEO (
Fuel Efficient Oil). If your k20z needs it, then try the special Civic oil as well. If they are using Magnatec FMX 10w-30, that's good stuff (semi-syn or full syn)/

My dealer asks for $240 with Magnatec 10w-40. I bring my own oil and get charged $200 instead.
