In reguards to this thread,

Why does it seem that ECU-MAN has some personal agenda against ProECU. He is constantly abusing his priveledges as site admin in benefit to himself? Anyone else noticed this? I think its very unbecoming of a moderator...

Doesnt this sorta thing normally get posted in 'Site discussion'?
And as for the deletion of posts, i guess most people wont know what thats about, they would have had to actually be there at the time.

Im not abusing Admin right
nor mod rights
he was self promoting his product, That post would of been deleted for any user with a comercial post.
User then continued to spam and ingnored a warning so he is now banned.
Off topic posts are not welcome nor nessasary in that thread.

ECU-MAN is not one to abuse his mod rights.
ProECU would have been posting either illegal or completely off topic comments for them to be removed like that.
ZeForce, please dont make an assumption that ECU-MAN is abusing his rights like that if you dont know the reason as to WHY a certain action was taken.

I have found ECU-Man to be fair and actually fairly easy with his moderating and in this case gave fair warning before taking action. If ProEcu had a problem he should have gone to pm with the site admin guys before going off on ECU-Man. I have always stuck with ProEcu in his past thread wars but in this case he went overboard.
Sounds fair enough to me, if someone is degrading one product to promote another product of theirs, then bannage is called for if its constant spamming of the same point.

seriously, the dude just came back from being banned... you'd think he'd be abit better behaved.

i rekon ECU man is very leniant, and was only observing forum rules
promotion of another product while slagging off another is not ethical and against site rules
contined spamming, proecu was warned and then banned, no abuse of power from wat i can see
Moved to site discussion.
I really don't think it is necessary to show the deleted posts to justify this - but to assure you there is no conspiracy I will say in one of them ProEcu says "**** You". I cannot see anything in the thread to justify such an outburst.
So ZeForce if you are still unhappy - not sure what you want us to do. In my opinion being sworn at in such a manner (whether member to member or member to moderator) - crosses the line as to what should be tolerated here.
If ProEcu was unhappy with his first post being deleted he should have raised it here. Sure I understand people are not always happy when their posts are deleted - but there is a right way of raising a complaint and a wrong way.

There really is nothing more to say here.
No moderator is abusing their "rights" any more than anyone else.
Infact , WE as moderators have far more tight rules to abide to
.
A few users which still insist in being immature with "grudges" against moderators need to grow up quite quickly.

I am objecting to my original post being deleted for the following reasons.
It was removed on the grounds it was commercially motivated....
Original comment was something along the lines of:
" Car made 225kw because I ProECU tuned it, and would've made more if it wasnt for the MSD"
arguments against.
1. The comment is actually the truth.
2. I've never advertised commercially here, and never will.
3. I did tune the car, without the tune it wouldn't have made the power it did
4. I had to rectify certain mechanical oversights from said mechanic.
5. Statement was made to correct the misconception a certain moderator was solely responsible for the car's performance.
I honestly believe the comment being deleted was alternately motivated, but i'm sure that will be denied...
I am so certain that you mods will vote against re-instating the original comment, in which case, I ask that all my posts (ever made) are deleted and my account disabled permanently, so that you mods can continue to stroke eachothers ego's without interruption.
Final note on this topic, IF my original post is not reinstated, then point 1 here has some serious implications towards the motivation of the taken action, and I hope more than anything & at the very least, people here start to question what they see on this forum.
Thanks.

I have to agree I have learned a lot from both of you guys and it would be nice if you both could get your points across without getting the other guy pissed off so the rest of us could learn something from both of you.

I have raised your comments in the moderator lounge for discussion. It is much easier for us to discuss in that section as there can be differences of opinion amongst moderators and we try to reach a consensus for the sake of consistency. Hope you can at least understand that point.
As for whether something is "commercial" - funnily enough that is something Wyn/Ben is trying to develop guidelines on. The reason being is there is sometimes a different interpretation by moderators (and members) as to what that means.
It is a bit of a shame you automatically think your post was deleted for malicious purposes. I don't see it that way. It is not that hard to see a moderator forming a view that you saying "it got 225kw because of PROECU!" (or close to that) is commercial, especially when we are developing more clear cut guidelines as to what commercial means.
Interesting that you have glossed over your posts in reaction - the "f... you" comment to ECU-Man, saying moderators are incestious, big egos etc.
I would have thought you would have the decency to at least apologise for your offensive comments in response. Like I said earlier - there is the right way to raise a complaint and a wrong way.
Anyway, like I said - leave it for us to discuss for a few days.

...and in the red corner we have yfin, representing ecuman...this is a great example of the sheep mentality. You're passing judgment purely on favourites.
I did the crime and paid the time on that one, so no need to apologise, in fact I think someone owes me an apology, for a great many things...

it was barely a commericial post, it simply stated who tuned the car.
look in the noob section dont wonna say names cause i;ve got nothing against them but they promote they're product (intake system) saying it will net a 10kw difference blah blah....no crime there so y here?
*note - searching is easy so u can do it yourself...
i dont want to inflame this thing but im just saying let it go its only the net sheesh
if its about the swearing i would too if i was proecu... think about it in a members point of view... eitherway like he said he did a crime and did the time... nuff said

okay.. well i supply alot of new genuine parts to alot of the members here, now.. if i someone says, thanks to destrukshn for supplying me the parts, or i say thanks to me for supplying the parts to you.
is that counted as a commercial post?
it's quite the same thing isn't it? still a service, just a different service
i'm not on anyones side really, i'm just speaking my mind, to see if someone can make it a tad more clearer.

Gee, so now you are having a go at me - the person who is taking this up on your behalf with other moderators... What did I say to you that is "passing judgement". I said I can understand the interpretation as we have no clear cut rules on what commercial means.
Is there someone else in this thread you want to vent at? Maybe you should - it could be therapeutic. Your teachers at high school, people who bullied you, whatever. Let it all out - as the guns blazing approach seems to be your prefered method of raising a grievance.

I think you've misunderstood the meaning of my post.
I'l try use smaller words next time.
but since you asked, your comments relating to apologising, raising the swearing issue as rebutal etc etc were "passing judgement". perhaps you dont agree, so i'l just wait and see what the outcome is....
I should take bets, maybe I can make some money on it, or is that commercial?

Going from the title of this Thread, and not the 3 pages of junk it containts, the Mod's + admin keep this site going at a high level.
Being involved with other forums these days, Ive come to realise that the rules and conditions have been set for a reason, and a bloody good one at that. Ozhonda is run perfectly, and if not for them, it would be a sh!tfight like 99% of the forums out there.
We have decided to reinstate the first post in question. The posts following, however, by PRO-ECU will not be reinstated as they contain abusive comments (not just swearing). Any abuse of a moderator wlil not be tolerated, regardless of whether the member believes an error has occured with the deletion or editing of a post. If you believe a mistake has occured you should PM either Bennjamin or Wynode or raise it constructively in site discussion.
Whether something is commercial or not is a difficult question and to be judged within a moderators discretion. We will attempt to come up with clear examples of what is not permitted for the sake of consistency.
As the post in question has been reinstated there is no more room for discussion. So thread closed.
If you have any questions PM me or a moderator.
