79 Civic Stereo Fit

okok my very bad...i took out the old stereo and measured the distance from the fan/defrost buttons to the glove box and the stereo would just fit, so i cut away not realising that the fan/def buttons actually have an extra cm on them..has anyone fitted a stereo to their old civic in the same way and have a fix for me..

you will find there is not enough space behind that area and your head unit will stick out about 1cm, there is a metal bar and heater box, get the console that goes from the floor to the dash and mount it in that, for memory the accord one fit nicely

too late i got it to fit though, it sticks out about 5mm but is not to bad.. thanks;)
