Honda pays for the labour only. You need to pay for the consumables such as oil, oil filter etc..
My Euro cost a bit over $100 if I recall correctly

In your Civic Manual, it shows you what work is supposed to be done during the service intervals.

in my mind, no matter which brand u bought, the first 1000km service should be free, without notice, they just check all part of ur car is working fine or not

The first 1000km is free. thats because they don't change anything (they only want to make sure everything is running fine).

At some dealers, they offer free 1000km service and pay for the parts themselves (Honda pay the dealer labour only), but they dont have to. My dealer charged me for the oil, filter, washer, and oil disposal.

But now with the new Civics, they dont change the oil until 10,000, so it SHOULD be free since there are no consumables required.

also depending on your dealer you might be able to be dropped off and picked up when your car is done
