Hi all,
can anyone explain how to undo automatic lever in the euro. I recently put up a thread in audio on how to install an ipod (ice-link) on an oem stereo of the euro, need to know how to undo automatic lever as the video is for a manual only....thanks.

According to the workshop manual, its the same for the Manual Transmission. The only difference is that you need to unscrew the gearknob off on the manual.

1. M/T: Remove the shift knob (A). ..... etc..

2. Detach the clips (A, B) by pulling the center console front panel (C) up, If equipped, disconnect the seat heater switch connectors (D).

Does the automatic lever (knob) screw off like the manual knob?

No, it looks like the Auto lever and leather/vinyl part stays in place, while the surrounding plastic comes off around it.

I'm guessing the leather/vinyl is attached to something below, rather than being attached to the plastic surround.

Not 100% sure though, just going off what I can see in the workshop manual.

Yeah I've done it before, that picture was my reference to undo it. It is not easy as it is preety hard to pick those clips (tight).

Use flat screwdriver and wrap around it with cloth to prevent scratch on the panel. Take your time when you do it, unless you dont mind scratches.

Good luck
