No doubt he's a good driver. But the best drivers are the ones that bring a shitty team up to the top. Like what Valentino Rossi did for Yamaha. Looks like Alonso is going to do something similar. LOL, and Alonso hates Rossi.

Ferrari sucked before Schumacher. They had not won a championship for 21 years. Soon after Schumi joined the team, they won 6 championships. Before Ferrari, Schumacher won a championship with Bennton, ,after he left they didn't win a single race for the next 5 and a half years!!!

So as you can see, a good driver can turn a team around. I don't think Alonso is that good.

merc mclaren isnt exactly a shit team.. still 3rd in constructors..

if he went to the middle teams like honda toyota bmw williams and go them serious it would be more of an achievement

remember with the teams that lifted when "stars" arrived took key people with them.

dont get me wrong biggest ms fan but he took a few key ppl from benetton with him so they contribute a large ammout to the progress/success too.
Same with rossi he took half of honda with him to yamaha.
A driver can only make up so much of the perfomance and i dont rate alonso that highly.

not sure if any people from renault would want to go with alonso to mclaren lol mainly coz hes an asshole...

Yes I think Alonso will actually bring what he remembers of 'Renault' technology and introduce them onto the McLarens... Although it still wouldn't alter the fact that McLaren/Mercedes make lemons in both road cars and in F1 cars. Something is going to break no matter how good the technology is. Did you guys know about the radar accident avoidance system that they demo'ed? In two separate tests, one in Europe and one in Aust, the mercs crashed into each other lol.



I thought Rossi only took 1 chief Mechanic with him to Yamaha btw from Honda. And Honda is still definitely a better bike and carries way more speed too :( Rossi lost though, don't know what he was doing in the last race. Idiot.. stuffed up the start then falls off later

btw i doubt alonso really knows much Renault technology either lol
