Hi everyone.
just another question:
I tried testing the squeeky suspension last night (because that was how i first noticed the squeek) on the way home by going a bit faster over a speed bump (at 40kph over a 20kph speed bump). No more squeek but the car did get quite a jolt over it.
Did I damage anything? What things can go wrong? I hope to get some heads-up advice so I know to go for service before things get too serious.
Thanks.

It should be alright, but depending on the force of the bump, you may need to get a wheel alignment. Also get them to safety check the suspension, and lube up the joints etc.. better safe than sorry ;)

I notice with my sussy (Tein SS)..it squeaks a fair bit only when the car is rather cold and hasnt been driven in a few days. After about 30 mins - 1 hr of driving the squeaking goes away:)
I asked my mechanic about this, and he said this does happen with coilovers sometimes, and is nothing to worry about really.
I'd only be concerned if your sussy is stock, then possibly something could be wrong as I've never heard of stock sussy squeaking, or if the squeaking is always there and never goes away.

I took it to a DIFFERENT honda dealer today (not the one i went to last time). They wanted to charge $66 for wheel alignment.
This is before they even looked at the car. They heard my story and said.. yup.. wheel alignment.
Are there any signs that I could tell if my wheels are out of alignment? Doesn't seem to drift to one side or another. I'm a bit sus that they can say that without looking at the car.
Should I get wheel alignment done? Also.. any more tips on how to spot a damaged suspension or watever else I might have killed going over speed bump.
Thanks.

yeah get it done. $66 isnt too bad, but I would go to a dedicated tyre place to get it done, such as bob janes. They have the proper lazer system happening.
My Euro had terrible factory wheel alignment when new a few months ago, so its a good idea to do it anyway.
get on the freeway find a nice straight stretch, lineup and then let go of your steering wheel, if it starts to drift left/right then you need a wheel alignment.
as for the damage it can do, your tyres will wear out not uniformly which may effect your handling, which is all i can think of atm or you might need to hold your steering wheel at like 30 degrees lol but i dunno i never really thought wheel alignment effected me that much.
