I might not be an expert at cars but when I went for my 15,000km servicing, the dude told me that my car has been used too conservatively and that he could see it on a graph or something... Is it true that if you push you car to the limits more often = more responsive engine? He rkns it is adaptive to your driving habits etc. ??

Yes apparently the ECU adapts to your driving style/habits. Give the revs a bit of a thrash for a few km's and it should adapt. Or reset the ECU.

Some people suggest to just drive normally (and give it a bit of a thrash now and then) when the engine is new instead of being gentle, so the piston rings can seat properly. which aparently results in a more powerful engine in the long run.

my 7th gen constantly hits 7K in first - i need to do this to keep up with bloody traffic hehehe. btw, our engine - D17 cuts out at 7100 rpm, but the US version runs to 7400, so give it a rev and enjoy.
