A bit of a n00b question :o

If an engine has been rebuilt, and then I want to put forged internals in (pistons, rods) can this be done just by taking the crank cover off and swapping all from underneath or will the heads need to come off to slip everything down?
I am assuming that the issue might be that the cylinders might need to be honed so head has to come off?

Also, if the engine was rebuilt about 10,000 km ago, would it be ok to just put the new internals in + new piston rings and not change anything else?

the pistons have to be lowerd down from the top so the head has to come off and the rods have to be attached to the pistons from the bottom so the sump come off also

yeh ur gonna have to remove the head to take out the piston so u can knock it out from teh top.. and also u might need to change ur head gasket when u remove the head...
