Hey Guys

Just wondering, how much power at the wheels can you get on a s2000 without turbocharging it? What is available for this car?

I've read up on the following.

Air Intake
Exhaust
Cams
Computer

Are they the usual mods you get to gain more power? After these mods how much would you be looking at the wheels?

Thanks :)

depends on the tuner i guess, off the top off my head id say 170-190 kw at the wheels or is that pushing it....

I have no idea if that is pushing it!

i would say thats pushing it. lol From what ure looking at id say anywhere between 145-155 rwkw. Depending on what size exhaust, type of cams, stand alone or pigy back ecu.....and a few other things. Most likley u'll get closer to the 145 mark than anything. If ure looking for more power than that its either FI or stroker kit. Ive seen a 3/4 complete 2.5 litre pull 190rwkws, but u could get that for half the $$$ with a turbo or s/c. If ure after big power numbers,s2000 is the wrong car for u.

for more info check the sticky TODA AU posted up. has various tuning options for the s2000.

i seen stock rwkw figures range from 115-142. Best thing to do is dyno ure car stock, then when ure finished with it, go back to the same dyno and have a look at the gains. Of course u'll have to try to test in similar conditions. But even then i could name a few ppl that would consider this not to be acurate. The thing is ppl have gained up to 10 kws just by going to a different dyno or testing in different conditions. I mean 142 in stock form,
thats just BS.

Alot of the yanks on s2ki seem to have about 185 rwhp in stock form (AP1) which translates to about 134kws, but im still not convinced of a concrete figure.

You cannot get accurate figures from dynos, it’s the most bullshit way to compare power if done in a different place and in a different time.

i got 184.0rwhp on mainline dyno, 199.5rwhp on dyno dynamics. was still running rich. so still room for improvement.. running tanabe exhaust, hks air pod, vafc

yeah ive heard it does 115 KW atw stock
and yeah exhaust , air filter , intake etc will give it small gains but you will notice it pulling better and revving quicker
