i believe the 2000 dc2r uses a key that's programmed for your car for the immobiliser..

you're going to have to go to honda to get it.. and it's expensive stuff..

if its a blacktop(genuine) yes.

actually i think there are some other guys besides dealers that can program keys now. I know one stall in chatswood has a guy that can cut and program keys.

He charges about 100 bucks a key i think, but if ur an nrma member u get a discount

I heard from someone that they need access to the ecu for them to program the key? is this true?

you need your master red key which has the code on it
then u will need to get a black key to for normal use last time i checked
it was around $180 from honda
correct me if im wrong anybody
if you havnt got the right code that corresponds to the ignition key hole the car wont start apparently.

u need the red key that has the original code on it
black key is only for every day use
they use the red key as a template to make your black key
just go to the honda dealer and get a quote
it wont be pretty but if other members say that you can get it done else where try them first.
