Hi guys..

I'm new here and i'll be getting new honda accord 2006. I'll be getting vti 2.4. The first thing i'm going to mod the accord would be the exhaust. with the 2.4l accord, can it be fitted with dual exhaust system (mugen/ or other aftermarket brand dual exhaust)? Anyone can help me on this?

Thanks guys. It look better with dual exhaust. but would it be a problem to fit on the dual exhaust? 2.4 chassis different from v6 3.0 chassis?

so putting a dual exhaust should not be a problem? there is room for another resonator?

If you want a dual exhaust so badly you might as well get the V6...

Maybe you could pick up a stock second hand set from the previous pre-facelifted model from a wrecker. that should be the cheaper option. Only problem is the headers because u'll have to fabricate a new y joint. Costing you more $$. imo, just get the muffler and stick it on the body without the piping ;) saves weight.

also, too much flow from a N/A smallish engine will decrease performance due to decreased back pressure.

and u dont wanna void ur new car warranty as well.

Thanks for the info SiReal. So, there is no aftermarket dual exhaust kit specially made for 2.4 ltr?

Not that I have heard of, at least in AUS. there are in teh states. But take note that a custom 2.25" dual piping exhuast is around $400.

I have to say, the following is just my personal opinion...but I reckon, have a dual exahust system is a bit too loud...well, you can put a silencer on, but that would defeat the purpose...depends on your personal taste bro! Good luck with the mods! Pictures would be cool!

Dual exhausts are quieter because there is an additional muffler and there is a lower flowrate of exhaust gas through each of the two mufflers.

Sounds about right to me... lol can't even tell if mine is running sometimes :(

Does anyone know and can anyone describe what sound the mugen exhaust makes on the ACCORD EURO?

although off topic...I used to have the mugen exhaust it had a soft deep but smooth tone, maybe 2-3 times louder than stock (which is still damn quiet).

the pictures you posted are of the updated design though so that might not be entirely accurate. previsouly the cl7 mugen exhaust had 1 'sausage' shaped resonator, the cl9 specific one i had had the resonator in the picture above + the sausage one

the mugen stuff is nice, but if you're just after a bit more burble you could go for 2 custom rear silencers
