hey guys

i have searched and tried to use this site (http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp) but it only confused me more. i dont know if the offset and width is meant to match the current wheel size or what!!!

i apologise in advanced for my lack of knowledge in the area

i currently have a 2000 dc4 and was trying to find out if the following sized rims will fit my car

17x7 4x100 +42
17x7 4x100 +47

please help me out and educate me!!! i really am sorry and i did attempt to search for all you search nazi's out there :o :o :o

you put in the specs of your current rims, and the specs of the rims your looking at and it tells you where the new rim will sit in relation to the old one.

ie. (this is just an example)
old rims 6.5" wide offset of +40
new rims 7.5" wide offset of +45

so with the new rims you will have 18mm less clearance on the inside and they will extend a further 8mm from the outside position of you current rims.

i found this site quite handy when i got new rims for my dc5r and to understand some more about offset.

thank you so much for your help!!!

I've read so many sites on offset and i understand the concept, i think that calculator just confused me more with its wording!

thanks once again
